Tiverton show spirit to come back from 2 goal half time deficit

ISCA D 4 Tiverton 4
It was most definitely a game of two halves on Saturday when TMHC met ISCA D in the sand at Exeter Uni.
Despite taking into the lead TMHC found themselves 3-1 down at half time. After a rousing half time team talk and a reminder of why we play hockey and the clubs ethos from John Hoaen the Captain Tiverton stormed out into the second half and quickly made it 3-3. Special mention to Matt Clapp who thundered the equaliser on the volley. TMHC held the lions share of possession in attack, however ISCA are no push over and if it wasn't goalie Grant making some phenomenal saves it could have easily gone ISCAs way. After a fantastic through ball from Rich Uren to Main the subsequent cross and deflection from Will King was inches from scoring the goal to put Tiverton put in the lead. But then the pressure from ISCA resulted them in scoring their only goal of the second half. But Tiverton were not giving up & with only 6 minutes to go Greg Jolly took a free hit on the edge of the D, ran through the defence and popped the ball into the net. 4-4, honours even.
Thanks to ISCA D for a tough game played in good spirit, a nice tonic from the past few weeks.
More importantly it shows the spirit of this new club and the respect we have for each other and the game.
